LG has officially introduced the UltraGear 25G590B, a new gaming monitor that sets a fresh benchmark for display performance.
The standout feature is its 1000Hz refresh rate at a native 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution. This is a major shift in gaming display technology because most previous ultra-high refresh monitors had to lower resolution, often dropping to 720p or below, in order to stay stable. The 25G590B keeps full HD sharpness while pushing refresh speed to an entirely new level.
The monitor uses a 24.5-inch panel that is specifically built for esports competition. It is aimed at professional players in fast reaction games like first-person shooters and tactical arena titles, where even a fraction of a second can decide the outcome of a match.
At this level of performance, the display refreshes every one millisecond, meaning the screen updates far more frequently than standard gaming monitors. This reduces motion blur, improves clarity during fast camera movement, and helps players track targets more precisely during high-speed action.
LG has also added a set of AI-driven features to support gameplay. AI Scene Optimization adjusts visuals depending on the type of game being played, helping improve contrast and clarity. AI Sound enhancements are designed to improve directional audio awareness, which can help players identify in-game movement and positioning more accurately.
To further support competitive use, the monitor includes Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology, which is designed to make fast-moving objects appear sharper and easier to follow. This is especially important in esports environments where visual clarity can directly affect reaction time and performance.
The physical design is also built with competitive setups in mind. The stand is minimal to give players more space for large mouse movements, and built-in hooks allow headsets to be hung neatly during breaks or between matches. These small design choices are aimed at reducing clutter and improving focus during long gaming sessions.
The UltraGear 25G590B is part of a broader trend in gaming hardware where manufacturers are competing to deliver faster response times, lower input lag, and higher refresh rates. While most everyday users may not clearly notice the difference between extremely high refresh levels, professional gamers often rely on these incremental improvements to gain a competitive edge.
LG has confirmed that the monitor will launch in the second half of 2026, though pricing has not yet been announced. The company is still refining production to ensure the panel can be manufactured at scale while maintaining performance standards.
With this release, LG is setting a new target for the entire gaming display industry, pushing competitors to explore even higher refresh rates and more advanced performance technologies in the coming years.
