Kodak has officially revealed the Charmera Millennium Edition, a fresh version of its popular Charmera Keychain Camera that celebrates the look and feel of early 2000s digital cameras. The new release blends nostalgic Y2K design with modern digital photography features, giving collectors and casual photographers a fun new way to capture everyday moments.

Unlike traditional camera releases, the Charmera Millennium Edition arrives in a blind-box format, meaning buyers won't know which design they receive until they open the package. The surprise element has become increasingly popular among collectors and adds an extra layer of excitement to every purchase.

The new collection pays tribute to Kodak's long history of compact cameras. While the original Charmera drew inspiration from the classic 1987 Kodak Fling, this latest version takes its design cues from the colorful point-and-shoot cameras that became popular during the early 2000s.

Kodak is offering seven different designs in the collection. Six standard versions are available in metallic green, metallic orange, metallic pink, classic silver, black, and other retro-inspired finishes. Each standard version has an equal chance of appearing, with one in every six boxes containing a particular design.

Collectors also have the opportunity to discover a special Liquid Metal Secret Edition, which is much rarer. This exclusive version appears in only one out of every 48 blind boxes, making it the most valuable design in the lineup.

For customers who want to collect multiple versions, Kodak is also selling a Whole Set package containing six blind boxes. The company guarantees there will be no duplicate standard designs in the bundle. If buyers are lucky enough to receive the rare secret edition, it replaces one of the standard versions.

Despite its tiny size, the Charmera Millennium Edition includes a surprising number of camera features.

The device is equipped with a 1.6-megapixel CMOS image sensor paired with a 35mm equivalent f/2.4 lens, allowing users to capture both photos and videos. Video recording supports resolutions of up to 1440 × 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second, making it capable of recording clear everyday footage.

The camera itself measures just 58 × 24.5 × 20 millimeters and weighs only 30 grams, making it small enough to attach to a keychain, backpack, or handbag without adding noticeable weight.

Each package includes the camera, a keyring attachment, and a USB-C cable for charging the battery and transferring photos to other devices. Users will need to purchase a microSD card separately, as storage is not included. The camera supports cards ranging from 1GB to 128GB.

Kodak has also expanded the creative features available inside the camera.

The Millennium Edition introduces four new photo frames along with seven built-in filters designed to recreate the distinctive look of early digital photography. Some filters imitate the appearance of old CRT television screens, while others recreate the interface of classic video players.

Additional color effects, including Coral, Honey, Teal, and Violet Pixel, are designed to mimic the vibrant tones commonly seen in photos taken with early 2000s digital cameras.

The camera features both a small rear display and a traditional optical viewfinder, giving users two ways to compose their shots. Power comes from a built-in 200mAh rechargeable battery, making the camera easy to recharge for repeated use.

The launch also reflects the growing popularity of both nostalgic technology and collectible products. Blind-box collectibles have become increasingly successful across toys, accessories, and lifestyle products, while interest in Y2K fashion and early digital gadgets continues to grow worldwide.

By combining these two trends, Kodak hopes the Charmera Millennium Edition will appeal to photography enthusiasts, collectors, and younger buyers discovering the charm of vintage-inspired digital cameras for the first time.

The Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition Keychain Camera is available for preorder now through Kodak's official online store. Orders will begin shipping in stages ahead of the expected mid-July 2026 release window.
