The Peaky Blinders story is moving into a new era, with Netflix and the BBC unveiling the first official look at Charlie Heaton as Charles Shelby in the upcoming sequel series. The new show continues the franchise after the events of The Immortal Man, which concluded Tommy Shelby’s storyline.

This next chapter takes place in the 1950s, about ten years after World War II, in a Birmingham that is rebuilding and changing. Instead of focusing on Tommy Shelby, the story now follows his children as they deal with the weight of the family name and its violent past.
Charlie Heaton, best known for Stranger Things, appears in a more refined and mature look, stepping into the role of an adult Charles Shelby. He is joined by Jamie Bell, who plays his older half-brother Duke Shelby, taking over from Barry Keoghan.
According to the series description, Charles is trying to build a peaceful life after years of violence linked to the Shelby legacy. However, the story suggests that escaping the family’s criminal past will not be easy, especially with unresolved ties to his brother and the Peaky Blinders world.
The series is written by Steven Knight, the creator of the original show, and is currently in production in Birmingham. The cast also includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski in undisclosed roles.
While full plot details are still being kept secret, the confirmed cast and setting have already raised strong anticipation. The release date has not yet been announced, but the series will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with a global release on Netflix to follow.
