Dua Lipa has filed a $15 million lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the company of using her image to market televisions without her permission. According to reports, the dispute centers around Samsung TV packaging released last year that allegedly featured a photo of the pop star on the boxes.
Lipa’s legal team says the image was taken backstage during her appearance at the 2024 Austin City Limits Festival and claims she owns the copyright to the photograph.
The lawsuit says Lipa discovered the issue in June 2025 and repeatedly asked Samsung to stop using the packaging. However, the complaint alleges the company continued selling the products despite those requests.
Her legal team argues that Samsung used her likeness in a way that made consumers believe she officially endorsed the televisions. The lawsuit also points to social media posts from customers who reportedly bought the TVs after seeing her image on the packaging.
The complaint states that the unauthorized use damaged Lipa’s ability to control and profit from her personal brand and image.
As the case moves forward, it could become an important example of how companies must properly handle celebrity images and copyright rights in advertising and product marketing.
