Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing for an important summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, as both countries look to discuss major economic and geopolitical issues.

Trump was welcomed with a formal ceremony after landing aboard Air Force One, where a brass band and flag bearers greeted him on the runway. The visit is being closely watched around the world due to the ongoing tensions and economic rivalry between the United States and China.

Joining Trump on the trip are several powerful American business leaders, including Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Jensen Huang of NVIDIA. Their presence highlights the growing importance of technology, AI, and trade in the relationship between both countries.

Trump’s schedule includes a welcome ceremony, a private meeting with Xi Jinping, a visit to the historic Temple of Heaven, and a formal state banquet. The two leaders are also expected to hold additional discussions over tea and lunch before Trump departs on Friday.

Key topics expected to dominate the talks include tariffs, rare earth minerals, artificial intelligence, the war involving Iran, and tensions surrounding Taiwan. Analysts also believe the summit could result in major Chinese purchases of American products such as Boeing aircraft and U.S. soybeans.

Ahead of the meeting, Trump said on Truth Social that he expected “great things” to come from the summit. Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Steve Daines said both countries have a strong interest in keeping relations stable and avoiding further economic conflict.
