Ye marked his 49th birthday on June 8 by expanding his luxury watch collection with an ultra-rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked. The high-end timepiece is valued at around $1.8 million USD and quickly became the highlight of his birthday celebration after it was revealed on social media.

The watch stands out for its craftsmanship and materials, featuring a 37 mm case and matching bracelet made entirely from 18-carat white gold. Every surface is covered in baguette-cut diamonds, giving it a fully iced-out finish that reflects light from every angle. Despite its luxurious design, the watch is built with precision engineering in mind, combining aesthetics with performance.
At the center of the piece is a rhodium-toned openworked dial that exposes the intricate double balance wheel mechanism. This system is designed to improve timekeeping accuracy by enhancing stability within the movement. The dial is complemented by pink gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands coated with luminescent material for visibility in low light.
The watch also includes a sapphire crystal caseback and a screw-locked crown, offering durability and water resistance up to 20 meters. An AP folding clasp secures the bracelet, ensuring both comfort and security while wearing the piece.
Beyond the watch reveal, Ye’s birthday was also marked by creative output. He released a new music video titled “GEMINI SEASON,” directed by Bianca Censori, adding a cultural moment to his luxury milestone celebration.
The combination of high-end fashion, horology, and music highlights Ye’s continued influence across multiple creative spaces, where personal milestones often blend with artistic releases and luxury statements.
