X has introduced a new feature called “React with Video,” giving users the ability to reply to posts with recorded videos instead of relying solely on reposts, quote posts, or text-based comments.
The feature is designed to make conversations on the platform more dynamic by allowing people to express themselves through facial expressions, voice, and body language. Rather than typing out a reaction, users can now record a video response and attach it directly to a post.
According to X, the new tool is particularly aimed at creators, influencers, and public personalities who regularly build audiences by sharing their thoughts on trending topics, breaking news, sports, entertainment, and politics. The company believes video reactions can create stronger connections between creators and their followers by making interactions feel more personal and authentic.
X Head of Product Nikita Bier announced the feature by highlighting the importance of commentary on the platform. He noted that while written posts remain a key part of the X experience, some opinions and reactions are better communicated through video.
The feature could also help creators expand their reach. Video responses allow audiences to see a creator's emotions, tone, and personality in real time, making discussions more engaging than traditional text replies. For news commentators, analysts, and content creators, it offers another way to stand out and participate in conversations happening across the platform.
Currently, React with Video is available on iOS devices, with X confirming that support for Android and web users will be added in a future update. As the rollout expands, more users will be able to create and watch video reactions directly within their feeds.
The launch comes during a period of significant changes for creators on X. In recent months, the platform has updated its creator subscription tools, introduced paid partnership labels, tested new advertising formats, and adjusted its revenue-sharing program. The company has also taken steps to reduce the visibility and earnings of accounts that post low-quality or clickbait content.
X has increasingly focused on attracting creators by offering new ways to monetize content and build communities. The addition of video reactions reflects the platform’s broader strategy of encouraging richer forms of engagement beyond traditional text posts.
The company continues to grow its user base as well. According to figures disclosed earlier this year, X had 550 million users as of March 2026, up from 520 million users in December 2025, highlighting steady growth as it expands its creator-focused features and content tools.
