Apple is gearing up for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026), where it is expected to unveil major updates across its software ecosystem, with artificial intelligence taking center stage. The event begins Monday at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) and will be streamed live on Apple’s Developer platforms and YouTube.
A major Siri overhaul
The biggest focus is a complete redesign of Siri, turning it into a more advanced AI assistant that can understand natural conversation, handle complex multi-step tasks, and work more smoothly across different apps. Reports suggest Apple will also use Google’s Gemini technology to power parts of the upgrade.
A possible standalone Siri app is also expected, positioning Apple more directly against AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Another rumored feature includes automatic message deletion options, giving users more control over chat history.
New AI tools across Apple devices
Apple is also expected to introduce an AI agent system that could help users complete tasks like booking appointments, managing daily schedules, editing documents, and controlling smart home devices.
In the Camera and Photos apps, Apple may add a “Visual Intelligence” mode that helps identify objects in real time and enhance editing tools. Users could also edit photos using simple text commands, making adjustments more intuitive.
Image creation and personalization upgrades
The Image Playground app is expected to receive improvements such as better image quality, more creative styles, and easier editing tools. Apple may also introduce smarter Genmoji suggestions and AI-generated wallpapers based on user preferences.
Wallet and productivity updates
Apple Wallet could gain new features like bill splitting from scanned receipts and the ability to turn physical tickets or cards into digital passes. These updates aim to make everyday payments and organization easier.

Updates are also expected for macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS, with a continued focus on integrating Apple Intelligence more deeply across the ecosystem, improving performance, and expanding AI-powered features.
