Unseen Inc., a Tokyo-based studio founded by former Tango Gameworks developer Ikumi Nakamura, has officially revealed the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming game KEMURI during the 2026 PlayStation State of Play showcase.
The game is set in Kemuri City, a dense, vertical metropolis where the real world and the afterlife overlap. The environment is heavily stylized with a bold, manga-inspired visual design that gives the game the look and feel of a living anime world. Rain-soaked streets, glowing lights, and supernatural distortions create a setting where normal life and ghostly activity exist side by side.
Gameplay centers on players taking on the role of Yokai Hunters, individuals who search for hidden spirits living among humans. Exploration is fast and fluid, encouraging movement across rooftops, alleyways, and underground areas as players uncover supernatural threats hiding in plain sight.
A key mechanic shown in the trailer is called the “Foxwindow.” Players use a special hand gesture to peer through invisible layers of reality, revealing hidden cracks in the world. This ability allows them to access spirit realms, uncover secrets, and interact with yokai dimensions that cannot be seen normally.
The game supports both solo play and online co-op for up to three players, allowing teams to explore and battle together across its surreal environments.
KEMURI is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC, with more gameplay details expected closer to release.
