TikTok is expanding beyond its main platform with the launch of a new standalone app called TikTok Pro Events in the United States. The app is designed specifically for major cultural and sporting moments, starting with the upcoming FIFA World Cup, and focuses on bringing fans together in a more organized, event-centered experience.

Inside the app, users can explore curated video feeds built around specific events, discover trending content, and interact with other fans in dedicated spaces. Rather than scrolling through general content like on the main TikTok app, users will be guided into structured hubs built around a single event, making it easier to follow updates, highlights, and creator coverage.

The platform also introduces a reward system aimed at boosting engagement. Users aged 18 and older can earn “Stars” by completing simple fan activities. These include searching event-related hashtags, visiting official event hubs, watching specific content, and sharing videos. The Stars can later be exchanged for perks such as official FIFA World Cup merchandise, TikTok Shop discount vouchers, or even the ability to direct donations to selected charities through TikTok’s partnership with Feeding America.

TikTok says this system is meant to turn passive viewing into active participation, encouraging users to engage more deeply with global events instead of just consuming content.

Creators also stand to benefit from the new structure. TikTok Pro Events gives them a more targeted audience made up of users already interested in specific cultural moments. This can improve visibility for event-related content and potentially increase engagement rates compared to the main app’s broader feed.

Advertisers and partners are another key focus of the new platform. By concentrating attention around large-scale events like the FIFA World Cup, TikTok can offer brands more precise targeting opportunities and event-based sponsorship placements. This creates additional revenue streams beyond traditional ads on the main app.

TikTok notes that users can still access FIFA World Cup 2026 content inside the main app by searching for dedicated hubs powered by its GamePlan system. These hubs will continue to offer highlights, creator content, and broadcaster clips, but TikTok Pro Events is positioned as a more immersive, focused alternative.

The app can be downloaded separately on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the U.S.

Beyond events, TikTok has been steadily expanding into commerce and lifestyle services. Its recent push with TikTok GO introduced travel-related features that allow users to discover and book hotels and experiences directly through the platform. The launch of TikTok Pro Events continues this broader shift, turning TikTok into a platform that blends entertainment, shopping, and now live event participation.
