PlayStation has teamed up with Takarajimasha to create a new accessory called the First Model Multi Cushion Case BOOK. The product is designed as a slim, soft carry case for laptops, tablets, and cables, but its standout feature is its design, which is directly inspired by the original 1994 PlayStation console.

The case closely recreates the look of the first-generation PlayStation, including its grey body color, button layout, and signature design shape. Instead of simply adding a logo or themed artwork, the entire surface is built to mirror the console itself, making it feel like a miniature version of the original hardware turned into a functional everyday item.

Measuring 23cm by 33cm with a slim 2cm thickness, the case is designed to be lightweight and portable. It weighs just 177g, making it easy to carry inside backpacks or laptop bags without adding bulk. Despite its compact size, it can hold a standard laptop or tablet along with small accessories such as charging cables or adapters.

The original PlayStation design is one of the most recognizable in gaming history. First released in Japan in 1994, the console introduced a new era of 3D gaming and became a cultural icon. Its simple grey design, angular edges, and distinctive button style influenced generations of gaming hardware and remain instantly recognizable decades later.
This new cushion case leans heavily into that nostalgia. Rather than being a basic branded accessory, it functions as a detailed replica of the console’s exterior, turning a piece of gaming history into a practical lifestyle product. It reflects how retro gaming design continues to influence modern fashion and tech accessories.

Takarajimasha has previously explored similar PlayStation-themed lifestyle items, but this version stands out for its level of detail and practical use. Instead of focusing only on branding, the design treats the original console as a blueprint for a real-world object.

The PlayStation First Model Multi Cushion Case BOOK is set to release on July 6 in Japan through Seven Net Shopping and 7-11 stores, offering fans a blend of nostalgia and functionality in one compact design.
