Off Campus has emerged as a major hit for Amazon Prime Video, ranking as the third most-watched series debut on the service.
The romantic drama, which follows college hockey players, reached 36 million viewers within its first 12 days online. While Amazon does not clearly define what counts as a “viewer,” the number still reflects strong early engagement for the new series.
Only two shows have launched with bigger opening numbers on the platform: The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout. This places Off Campus ahead of major Prime Video titles like The Boys, Reacher, and The Summer I Turned Pretty when comparing their first 12 days of release.
The series performed especially well among younger audiences, ranking as Amazon’s top debut ever among women aged 18 to 34. This audience overlap is seen as important for the platform, following the success of teen-focused shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty.
The Summer I Turned Pretty previously became one of Prime Video’s strongest romantic dramas, helping build a large fanbase among young viewers.
Off Campus stars Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli. The series was created by Louisa Levy, who also serves as co-showrunner alongside Gina Fattore. The production team includes executive producers Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman, Leanna Billings, and Neal Flaherty.
Amazon MGM Studios praised the show’s early success, saying the strong fan response shows how audiences are responding when adaptations stay true to beloved source material.
