Nvidia continues to strengthen its position in the AI industry by investing heavily in artificial intelligence companies and infrastructure. According to reports, Nvidia has already committed more than $40 billion to AI-related equity investments during the first part of 2026 alone.

The biggest deal is reportedly a $30 billion investment connected to OpenAI. Nvidia has also announced several other billion-dollar investments in public companies, including up to $3.2 billion in glass manufacturer Corning and up to $2.1 billion in data center company IREN.

The company has also remained active in startup investing. Reports say Nvidia participated in 67 AI startup deals in 2025 and has already joined around two dozen private funding rounds in 2026.

Some analysts have criticized Nvidia’s strategy because many of the companies receiving investments are also customers that buy Nvidia’s AI chips. Critics argue this creates a cycle where money flows between connected businesses.

However, some experts believe the investments could help Nvidia strengthen its long-term position in the AI market by building deeper partnerships and expanding its influence across the industry.
