Nintendo has officially revealed its 2026 release lineup for the Nintendo Switch 2, and the upcoming calendar is filled with some of the biggest game launches fans have been waiting for. From classic franchise revivals to major third-party titles, the company is preparing for one of its strongest console years in recent memory.

The excitement begins in May with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, launching exclusively for Switch 2 on May 21. The game marks the return of the Yoshi franchise for the first time since Yoshi’s Crafted World in 2019. Just a day later, Bubsy 4D will also arrive, bringing back the classic platforming series in a new 3D adventure.

June is set to be one of the busiest months for the console. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on June 3, bringing one of Square Enix’s biggest RPG titles to Nintendo players. Later in the month, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales releases on June 18, followed by the highly anticipated return of Star Fox on June 25. The new Star Fox is expected to serve as both a reboot and a modern remake inspired by Star Fox 64, making it the franchise’s first major release in years.

Nintendo is also taking some creative risks with its biggest franchises. Rhythm Heaven Groove launches on July 2, ending a decade-long wait for fans of the rhythm game series. Then on July 23, Splatoon Raiders arrives as a Switch 2 exclusive, shifting the series toward a stronger single-player and co-op experience instead of focusing mainly on multiplayer gameplay.

The second half of 2026 continues the momentum with strong support from outside developers. IO Interactive’s new James Bond game, 007 First Light, is targeting a late summer or fall release window. Meanwhile, FromSoftware fans can look forward to Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and an entirely new action RPG called The Duskbloods. Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is also expected to release on the console sometime during the year.

Nintendo’s strategy for the Switch 2 appears focused on combining major exclusives with powerful third-party partnerships. The company is also giving its studios room to experiment with familiar franchises while expanding the console’s appeal to a wider audience.

Looking even further ahead, Nintendo has already teased Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves for 2027, suggesting the company plans to maintain strong momentum well beyond the console’s launch year.
