Nike and SKIMS have officially brought their joint NikeSKIMS venture to China with the opening of a new pop-up at HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai, marking the brand’s first physical retail destination in the country.

SKIMS Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Kim Kardashian hosted an early preview of the space on September 28, giving selected guests and media, including Hypebeast, an opportunity to experience the new location before it opened to the public.
The Shanghai pop-up presents the complete NikeSKIMS Fall Edit 01 collection, bringing together apparel, footwear and accessories in one location. The range reflects the partnership’s combination of Nike’s sportswear expertise and SKIMS’ focus on body-conscious design and fit.
Inside, the retail environment has been designed around the visual identity of NikeSKIMS. Custom product displays showcase the collection throughout the space, while dedicated fitting rooms allow shoppers to explore the pieces and experience how they fit before making a purchase.

The location also includes lounge areas that give visitors space to interact with the brand beyond simply browsing products. The overall setup is intended to make the physical store feel like an extension of the NikeSKIMS identity rather than a conventional retail space.
The Shanghai opening attracted a notable group of guests from fashion, entertainment and sports. Among those in attendance were Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, swimmer Stephanie Au, basketball player Li Meng, track athlete Liu Yinglan, actresses Vanda Li and Zhuang Dafei, singers Jike Junyi and Lexie Liu, and supermodel Zhao Jiali.
Beyond offering the full NikeSKIMS collection, the Shanghai location is also introducing services tailored to local customers. Select pieces will be eligible for on-site tailoring, giving shoppers the option to make certain items more personalized to their preferred fit.

NikeSKIMS also plans to use the Shanghai destination for future community events and product-focused experiences. These activities are expected to give customers additional opportunities to engage with the brand and its collections in person.
During an exclusive conversation with Hypebeast at the pop-up, Kim Kardashian discussed what China's market represents for NikeSKIMS as the collaboration moves into a new phase of its global expansion.
Kardashian also spoke about the process behind creating the partnership’s debut sneaker. She explained that her long-standing connection to Nike’s Air Max 95 and Air Max 97 models made footwear an important part of her vision from the beginning of the collaboration.
Her familiarity with Nike sneakers helped shape the decision to create a shoe as part of NikeSKIMS, while the choice of the Rift was influenced by its distinctive silhouette and close-fitting design.

The sneaker’s form also connects with SKIMS’ emphasis on creating pieces that closely follow and complement the body. That design approach helped make the Rift a natural choice for Kardashian’s first sneaker project with Nike.
The Shanghai pop-up therefore represents more than the arrival of NikeSKIMS merchandise in China. It gives the collaboration a physical platform where customers can experience the clothing, footwear and accessories directly while also interacting with the brand through localized services and future events.
The NikeSKIMS Shanghai HKRI Taikoo Hui Pop-Up officially opens to the public on September 29, 2026. The temporary retail destination is scheduled to remain open through February 2027.

For customers who cannot visit the Shanghai location, the NikeSKIMS Fall Edit 01 collection will also be available digitally through the Nike App, allowing shoppers to access the range beyond the physical pop-up.
With its first Chinese retail destination now open, NikeSKIMS is expanding its presence beyond digital and limited retail moments and establishing a dedicated space in one of Asia’s major fashion and commercial hubs.
