Netflix has officially announced that the Money Heist universe is continuing to grow. The streaming platform released a short teaser and confirmed that more projects connected to the hit series are currently in development.
The announcement was made by Álvaro Morte, who played the Professor, during the world premiere of Berlin Season 2 in Seville. The new season premieres on Netflix on May 15.
The 50-second teaser does not reveal many details, but one scene has already caught fans’ attention: a pair of hands digging up a gold bar. Many viewers believe this could hint at a possible Money Heist Season 6 or another spin-off series.
Netflix also released a statement saying the Money Heist universe will continue to “grow, evolve, and surprise” audiences. While the company did not confirm exactly what projects are coming next, the message strongly suggests that more stories are on the way.
Reports also claim that Alex Pina’s production company is already working on a four-episode miniseries focused on Colonel Tamayo, one of the main antagonists from the original show. If true, it would become the second spin-off after Berlin.
Money Heist became one of Netflix’s biggest international hits and built a massive global fanbase. Because of its popularity, Netflix appears ready to keep expanding the franchise with new characters, stories, and spin-offs.
