Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is officially coming to an end, with Disney+ confirming that the upcoming third season will be the show’s final chapter.
The series, led by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, will conclude after three seasons on Disney+. Season 3 is already in post-production, meaning the story is moving toward its planned conclusion rather than being left open for another season.
Daredevil: Born Again marked the return of Cox’s version of Matt Murdock after the character’s original Netflix series ended. The revival brought the hero back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe while continuing several of the stories and relationships that made the original series popular.
Several familiar faces have also remained part of the new series. Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin, while Deborah Ann Woll returned as Karen Page and Elden Henson reprised his role as Foggy Nelson.
Wilson Bethel also returned as Benjamin Poindexter, the character known as Bullseye, adding another major threat to Matt Murdock’s story.
The decision to end the series with Season 3 comes as the third installment moves through post-production. It also follows the departure of co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapane, who helped guide the revival through its first two seasons.
Despite the change behind the scenes, Season 3 is expected to continue directly from the major events that unfolded in the second season.
Season 2 left Matt Murdock facing one of the most difficult situations of his life. His identity as Daredevil was exposed, he was imprisoned, and Wilson Fisk suffered a major political setback after losing his position as mayor.
Those events have created a very different situation for both Murdock and Fisk heading into the final season.
The third season is also expected to bring together several heroes connected to Marvel’s street-level universe. Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones, while Mike Colter will reprise his role as Luke Cage and Finn Jones will return as Iron Fist.
Their return marks a major reunion of characters who were previously connected through Marvel’s Defenders television universe.
With Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist coming together, the upcoming season could serve as a major culmination of the street-level corner of the Marvel universe that began with the original Netflix shows.
At the center of the story will once again be the conflict between Daredevil and Kingpin. The two characters have been closely connected since the original series, with their rivalry becoming one of the defining elements of the franchise.
The ending of Season 2 has now placed both characters in new positions, creating the foundation for what could become the biggest confrontation between them yet.
For Matt Murdock, the stakes are particularly high. His secret identity is no longer protected, his life has been turned upside down and his relationship with Fisk has reached another dangerous stage.
Fisk, meanwhile, has already demonstrated how far he is willing to go to control New York. His fall from political power could push him toward an even more direct confrontation with Daredevil and the other street-level heroes.
The decision to finish the show with a third season also gives Marvel an opportunity to bring the story to a planned conclusion rather than continuing indefinitely.
While Marvel has not revealed all of the plot details for Season 3, the returning characters and unresolved conflicts suggest that the final season will have plenty of storylines to close.
Daredevil: Born Again originally premiered on Disney+ in 2025 after Marvel moved the character from his original Netflix home to its streaming platform. The revival allowed Cox and several members of the original cast to continue their roles within the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The series has therefore become an important bridge between Marvel’s earlier television projects and its current Disney+ era.
With Season 3 now confirmed as the ending, fans will have one final opportunity to see Cox’s Matt Murdock lead the story as Daredevil.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2027. Marvel has yet to announce the exact premiere date, but the season is expected to serve as the final chapter of the series.
