Season 8 of Love Island USA has officially become the most-watched original series debut in Peacock history, marking a major milestone for the streaming platform.

Since its premiere on June 2, the new season has released only three episodes, yet it has already amassed 824 million total viewing minutes, according to internal data from NBCUniversal. That figure represents a sharp 74% jump compared to the first three days of Season 7, which was already considered a breakout success for the platform.

When converted into a standard streaming metric used across the industry, the season’s performance equals roughly 3.7 million views so far. This is calculated by dividing total watch time by the current runtime of available episodes.

The data highlights not just scale but momentum. Peacock’s ability to grow viewership year over year shows that Love Island USA is not only retaining its audience but expanding it significantly with each new season.

One of the most interesting trends is how people are watching the show. NBCUniversal reports that 23% of Season 8 viewing has come from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. That is the highest mobile share ever recorded for a Peacock original during its launch period.

This mobile-heavy audience reflects the show’s format and viewing style. Episodes drop regularly, and fans often watch in short bursts or while multitasking, making phones and tablets a natural fit for engagement.

Beyond streaming numbers, Love Island USA is also dominating social media conversations. On its June 2 premiere day alone, clips and discussions from the show generated more than 43 million views across NBCUniversal’s social platforms.

The series has become a consistent online talking point, with viewers sharing reactions, memes, and commentary in real time as episodes air. This social engagement helps fuel even more interest in the show and drives additional viewers back to Peacock.

Hosted by Ariana Madix and narrated by Iain Stirling, the series is produced by ITV America in partnership with Lifted Entertainment and WPP Media’s Motion Entertainment, with distribution handled by ITV Studios.

With record-breaking streaming minutes, strong mobile adoption, and massive social media traction, Season 8 is shaping up to be the most successful installment of Love Island USA yet.
