Leica has introduced the Cine Compact 1, a compact projector aimed at delivering a cinema-like experience in a portable form. It continues the brand’s push into premium home entertainment, combining high-end optical engineering with modern smart features to make large-screen viewing more accessible without requiring a traditional TV setup.

The design follows Leica’s signature minimalist approach, with a solid aluminium body inspired by Bauhaus principles and a smooth glass front panel. The build is not just for aesthetics, it is made to feel durable and premium while still being easy to move around different spaces in the home or even outdoors. Despite its small footprint, it is built to produce large-scale visuals without sacrificing image clarity.

On the performance side, the Cine Compact 1 can deliver up to 1,700 lumens of brightness, allowing it to perform well in both dim and moderately lit environments. It is capable of projecting images up to 220 inches, turning an ordinary wall, ceiling, or outdoor surface into a large viewing screen. This makes it suitable for movies, sports, gaming, and presentations.

The projector’s image quality is driven by a combination of advanced technologies. It uses a Leica Summicron zoom lens with aspherical elements, a 0.47-inch DMD imaging chip, and Triple RGB laser projection. These components work together to enhance sharpness, color accuracy, and overall brightness consistency across the entire image. The system is further refined by Leica Image Optimization (LIO™) and Dolby Vision support, which improve contrast, dynamic range, and realism, especially in cinematic content.

Setup is designed to be simple and flexible. The projector includes 360-degree rotation, allowing it to be positioned in almost any direction. It also features automatic zoom, autofocus, keystone correction, and intelligent screen alignment, which help adjust the image automatically so users do not need technical knowledge to get a properly framed display. This makes it easy to switch between rooms or projection surfaces without repeated manual calibration.

For smart functionality, the Cine Compact 1 runs on the VIDAA operating system, giving direct access to popular streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video. It also supports a wide range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay, HDMI, and USB, allowing it to connect seamlessly with smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles, and other media devices.

Leica has positioned the Cine Compact 1 as a premium all-in-one entertainment solution, combining projection, smart streaming, and flexible setup in a single device. It is scheduled for release on June 18, 2026, priced at £1,450 (approximately $1,850 USD), with availability across major global regions including Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, followed by a later rollout in Japan.
