Hailey Bieber is opening up about the major sale of her skincare brand Rhode and the goals she had for the company from the beginning. In a recent interview, Bieber said she had a clear target in mind before selling the brand to e.l.f. Beauty. She wanted the deal to reach a $1 billion valuation and told her team early on that she would not accept less.

Bieber explained that she strongly believes in speaking goals into existence and said setting that number became a personal motivation throughout the process. After the acquisition, she continued working with the company as Rhode’s chief creative officer and head of innovation.

Beyond the business success, Bieber said one of her biggest concerns has always been making Rhode feel accessible to everyone. She explained that when products sell out or become highly popular, she never wants customers to feel excluded from the brand.
She also emphasized that skincare should not have to be extremely expensive to be effective. According to Bieber, Rhode focuses on creating simple and reliable everyday skincare products at prices people can realistically afford.
