Dutton Ranch has made a huge debut on Paramount+, becoming the most-watched series launch in the platform’s history.

The first two episodes, released on May 15, pulled in 12.9 million views within seven days. This easily beats the previous record held by Mobland, which launched in 2025 with 8.8 million views.

The strong performance also continued on traditional TV. When the episodes aired as a special two-episode event on the Paramount network, they averaged 2.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen data.

The success adds to a growing list of hits from the Yellowstone universe created by Taylor Sheridan, whose projects have consistently delivered strong streaming numbers for Paramount+.

Earlier releases in the same franchise have also performed well. The Madison reached 8 million views at launch, while Landman Season 2 opened with 9 million views, showing steady demand for Sheridan’s storytelling style.

Dutton Ranch continues the story of Beth and Rip after the events of Yellowstone. The couple leave Montana and start a new life in Texas, but quickly find themselves facing fresh challenges on their new ranch.

The series stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, along with Finn Little, Ed Harris, Annette Bening, and others.

Season 1 was created by Chad Feehan, who also served as showrunner, but he will not return for the next season. The show is based on characters created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, with multiple executive producers and directors involved across production.

With its record-breaking debut, Dutton Ranch has firmly established itself as one of Paramount+’s biggest original hits.
