Drake could be heading back to the Coachella Valley, with a new report suggesting that the rapper is being considered for a headline position at Coachella 2027.

‍

According to HITS Daily Double, Drake “is said to be in the Coachella discussion” as organizers continue working on the lineup for next year’s festival. The report was included in the outlet’s Oct. 2 HITS List, putting the Grammy-winning rapper among the names reportedly being considered for one of the festival’s biggest stages.

‍

The report does not mean that Drake has officially been booked. Coachella organizers have not confirmed his involvement, and the festival has not yet announced its complete 2027 lineup. At this stage, his potential appearance remains a reported possibility rather than an official booking.

‍

The timing of the speculation comes as Drake continues promoting his latest run of music. The Toronto rapper recently released Habibti (FOMO), an expanded version of the project he originally dropped in May, giving fans additional material following his earlier release.

‍

Drake has also suggested that more live performances could be on the way. During an interview with CTV’s etalk, the rapper indicated that he has plans beyond his recent music releases.

“Obviously [a] tour is coming and there’s other things on the horizon,” Drake told CTV’s etalk. “Some big shows.”

‍

That comment has added to the interest surrounding the Coachella report, although Drake did not specifically identify the festival as one of the shows he was referring to.

‍

A potential Coachella booking would make sense as part of a broader return to live performances for the rapper. Drake has built a reputation for large-scale tours and major festival appearances throughout his career, making a possible return to one of the world's most prominent music festivals a significant development for his fans.

‍

Drake last headlined Coachella in 2015. He closed the festival’s Sunday lineup that year, performing alongside fellow headliners AC/DC and Jack White across the weekend.

‍

His 2015 performance remains particularly memorable because of a surprise appearance from Madonna. The pop icon joined Drake onstage during the set, creating one of the most widely discussed moments from that year’s festival.

‍

More than 10 years later, a second Coachella headline appearance would represent a major return to the festival for Drake. It would also place one of the biggest names in modern hip-hop at the center of a lineup that is already reportedly taking shape.

‍

Other major artists have been linked to Coachella 2027. HITS Daily Double has previously reported that Tame Impala, Dua Lipa and Fred Again.. are expected to be part of the festival, although the full lineup has not yet been officially announced.

‍

Several other major acts have reportedly been pursued for headlining opportunities. BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead have all been mentioned in reports surrounding potential headline slots, while Miley Cyrus has reportedly declined an offer.

‍

These reports suggest that organizers are continuing to assemble a lineup featuring major artists from different generations and genres. However, reported negotiations and potential offers can change before the official announcement, meaning none of the rumored names should be treated as confirmed unless Coachella announces them.

‍

Drake's possible inclusion would also give the festival another major hip-hop presence. While Coachella regularly features rap and R&B artists throughout its lineup, headline slots are typically reserved for artists capable of drawing audiences from well beyond a single genre.

‍

Drake's extensive catalog would give him plenty of material for a festival-scale performance. His career includes multiple global hits, major collaborations and albums that have shaped mainstream hip-hop and pop over the past decade and a half.

‍

A headline set could also give him an opportunity to revisit some of his biggest songs while showcasing newer material from his current musical era. If his touring plans materialize, Coachella could potentially become one of the major stops in a larger live-performance schedule.

‍

There is still a significant amount of time before the festival takes place, however, and plans can change. Artists can enter or leave negotiations, scheduling conflicts can arise, and festival organizers can adjust their lineup strategy before making an official announcement.

‍

Coachella 2027 is currently scheduled to take place across two weekends, from April 9 to April 11 and again from April 16 to April 18. The festival will return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

‍

For Drake, appearing at the festival again would close a long gap since his last headline performance there. His 2015 appearance came at an earlier stage of his career, while a potential 2027 return would come after years of additional albums, collaborations, tours and major changes in the live music landscape.

‍

For now, though, there is no official confirmation that Drake will headline either weekend. The current report only places him among the artists being discussed as organizers continue putting together the 2027 lineup.

‍

If the reported discussions lead to an agreement, Drake could once again find himself on one of Coachella’s biggest stages, more than a decade after his first headline appearance. Until an official announcement arrives, his involvement remains a possibility rather than a confirmed part of the festival.
