Bvlgari has added a bold new chapter to its acclaimed Octo Finissimo collection with the launch of the Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar in a rich monochromatic blue finish. The new model builds on the success of one of the brand's most celebrated creations, bringing together advanced watchmaking technology and elegant Italian design in a package that remains remarkably thin and wearable.

Over the years, the Octo Finissimo line has become one of the most influential collections in modern watchmaking. The series has set ten world records for thinness and has earned praise throughout the industry for pushing the limits of what mechanical watches can achieve. The perpetual calendar version first made headlines in 2021 when it won the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Aiguille d'Or award, one of the highest honors in the watch world. Since then, Bvlgari has continued to evolve the model through various materials and finishes, including carbon gold and rose gold editions.

Now, for the first time, the maison has dressed the watch entirely in blue, giving the highly technical timepiece a fresh and contemporary identity.

The watch features a 40mm case crafted from sandblasted titanium and finished with a deep blue PVD coating. Despite housing one of the most complex calendar mechanisms in watchmaking, the case measures just 5.8mm thick, maintaining the ultra-slim profile that has become synonymous with the Octo Finissimo name.

The blue theme extends throughout the watch, creating a seamless tone-on-tone appearance. Its lacquered blue dial remains clean and highly legible, even while displaying a full perpetual calendar. The watch automatically tracks the date, day, month and leap year, requiring virtually no adjustment for decades. Silver-toned markers and grey rhodium-plated hands provide contrast against the blue background, making the information easy to read while preserving the watch's minimalist aesthetic.

Additional details include a polished stainless steel crown with a black ceramic insert and a matching blue alligator leather strap secured with a titanium pin buckle. The combination of premium materials and understated styling allows the watch to transition effortlessly from formal occasions to everyday wear.

Powering the timepiece is Bvlgari's in-house BVL 305 automatic movement, a remarkable mechanical caliber measuring only 2.75mm thick. Despite its slim dimensions, the movement delivers a robust 60-hour power reserve and manages the demanding perpetual calendar functions with impressive precision.

Visible through the transparent caseback, the movement highlights the extraordinary engineering required to fit such complex mechanics into an ultra-thin case. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the caliber represents years of research and development dedicated to achieving both performance and elegance.

The watch also offers practical everyday usability with a water resistance rating of 30 meters, proving that advanced complications do not have to come at the expense of durability.

More than just a new color variation, the blue Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar serves as another demonstration of Bvlgari's commitment to innovation. It combines architectural design, mechanical excellence and contemporary luxury in a way few watches can match. With its award-winning pedigree, groundbreaking engineering and striking new appearance, the latest Octo Finissimo continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the most important luxury watches of the modern era.

The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar in blue titanium is priced at approximately $87,000 and is now available through Bvlgari boutiques and authorized retailers worldwide.
